Over 1000 customers without power in High Point; car hit equipment according to Duke Energy

HIGH POINT, N.C. (WGHP) -- People may be waking up without power Monday.

Duke Energy reports around 1100 customers are without power early Monday. 930 of those outages are said to have been caused by a car, while roughly another 200 have no listed cause.

High Point police say this was a single-vehicle crash around the 800 block of Skeet Club Road. There are no injuries reported and no word on the cause of the crash.

According to the website, the initial outage was reported around 1:50 a.m. Monday. Current estimates put restoration for most of those outages around 4 p.m.
